ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — If you happened to make a pit stop at the newest Greenlane location in St. Petersburg on Wednesday afternoon, you may have been welcomed with VIP treatment and warm smiles.
That's because NFL star Rob Gronkowski helped serve up some delicious food at the drive-thru window. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end is a brand partner for the Tampa-born fast-food joint.
His presence was only announced on Greenlane's social media a few minutes before his arrival for the lunch rush. Customers had the opportunity to receive autographs from Gronkowski as well.
Since the business launched in June 2023, it has quickly grown to three locations across the Tampa Bay area. The St. Petersburg restaurant is Greenlane’s third location and first on the Pinellas side, at 8001 4th Street N. The chain also has two other locations in Tampa at 4495 West Gandy Blvd. and 2055 North Dale Mabry Hwy.
The location along Dale Mabry opened just a few months ago in May, while the flagship location in South Tampa opened last year.
In a press release, the owners said they plan to continue expanding locally, while serving healthy and affordable meal options. That includes salads, wraps, smoothies and more.
