ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A new salad-focused chain is having its grand opening on Tuesday to showcase its healthy, affordable meal options.

Greenlane boasts itself as a fast-food restaurant with "quick, convenient and affordable meals" that are healthier than a burger and fries. The menu has salads, wraps, protein boxes, slushies, snacks and sweets with everything being under $10.

"Yes, we're a salad brand. But we're not your average rabbit food," its website reads.

The company is hosting a grand opening event for its latest location in St. Petersburg at 8001 Fourth St. North starting at 11 a.m., according to a news release. The event will feature $5 salads and wraps all day until closing at 8 p.m. There will also be music, decor and the brand will debut its mascot named GiGi.

Greenlane will be open every day from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the first few weeks of operation until they implement normal hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Aside from the healthy food options, the location also has a drive-thru enclosure for customers on the go. Greenlane has classic options on its menu such as Cesar and Cobb salads but will also feature seasonal offerings as well.

The chain also has two other locations in Tampa at 4495 West Gandy Blvd. and 2055 North Dale Mabry. The location along Dale Mabry opened just a few months ago in May, while the flagship location in South Tampa opened last year.

The Dale Mabry location celebrated its opening with football star Rob Gronkowski, aka "Gronk," working the drive-thru.
