ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Tampa Bay drought is finally almost over as the area can expect widespread rain in the coming day or two. Areas south, however, are likely to pick up more — perhaps more than a month's worth of rainfall.
Downpours are expected throughout the week, kicking into high gear starting as early as Tuesday. Although the dry ground should absorb much of the rain, isolated flooding could be possible in some spots.
Some counties offer self-serve sandbag areas year-round for residents during particularly rainy times. See what's open as of this writing:
