SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) shared when it expects to turn the lights back on for the millions of people across the state who lost power during Hurricane Milton.

FPL is targeting the end of Monday to restore power to 90% of its customers statewide. However, FPL customers without power in Sarasota and Manatee counties will likely have to wait a little longer.

Here's a look at FPL's timeline for restoring power, and which counties it plans to service first.

Already restored

Baker, Bradford, Broward, Clay, Columbia, Hendry, Miami-Dade, Nassau, Palm Beach and Suwannee counties are already "essentially restored," FPL says.

Tuesday, Oct. 15

FPL aims to have 95% of customers in Glades, Martin, Putnam and St. Johns counties restored by Tuesday.

Wednesday, Oct. 16

FPL aims to have 95% of customers in Collier, Lee, Okeechobee and St. Lucie counties restored by Wednesday.

Thursday, Oct. 17

FPL aims to have 95% of customers in Brevard, Charlotte, DeSoto, Flagler, Indian River, Manatee, Sarasota, Seminole and Volusia counties restored by Thursday.

FPL says it will take longer to restore power in heavily flooded areas or areas with extensive tree or tornado damage.

"The west coast experienced storm surge and flooding, which closed roads and left many areas inaccessible to crews, delaying damage assessments and restoration efforts. Powerful tornadoes and significant debris also caused substantial damage," the company wrote in a release.

FPL shared it will be working around the clock until power is completely restored across the state.

"The men and women in our restoration workforce have made great progress. They have already restored power to more than 1.3 million customers," FPL President and CEO Armando Pimentel said. "I want to assure all those who don’t have power that we are working around the clock to restore service and will not stop until every customer’s power is back."

As of 10 p.m. Friday, 546,754 FPL customers are still without power across Florida.
