TAMPA, Fla. — As Hurricane Milton prepares to devastate Florida, businesses are doing their best to prepare as well. Most are shuttering ahead of the predicted landfall.

The items you had on Tuesday night may be all you have until the storm passes.

For all major grocery chains in Florida, closures and changed store hours only apply to stores in the storm's anticipated path, including in the Tampa Bay area.

Stores outside of the path, in Miami, West Palm Beach, Gainesville and Jacksonville areas, are continuing business as usual.

Here's what we know about when they'll reopen.

Publix

Around 500 Publix stores across Florida are modifying hours ahead of the Category 4 hurricane.

While hours vary depending on the location, several Publix stores in St. Petersburg and Tampa closed at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, are remaining closed through Wednesday, Oct. 9, before reopening at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10.

Hours are planned to be back to normal, 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., by Friday.

Shoppers should check the interactive map on their website to see when their local store will be open.

Walmart

Walmart stores across Milton's path are closing their doors on Wednesday. There's no word on when those stores will reopen.

Store management says they'll continue to update this interactive map of stores when more information becomes available.

Target

Target is also shuttering stores ahead of Milton. On their website, it says all stores in Tampa Bay area are closed Wednesday, but expected to reopen Thursday morning, with hours from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Hours go back to 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day after that.

Target corporate says they're "closely monitoring" the hurricane and will update store hours accordingly.

Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's closed their west coast locations Tuesday night at 9 p.m. They're remaining closed Wednesday.

According to this map of store locations, they're expected to reopen Thursday morning, with regular hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Sprout's

All Sprout's locations in the storm's path are closed Wednesday.

Hours are changed from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. for most stores Thursday, but they say to check back on their website here to see when exactly your local store will reopen.

Wawa

A handful of Wawa's are still open in the Tampa Bay area but have limited fuel.

Some locations that are open include stores in Seminole, Pinellas Park, Largo, Clearwater and several in Tampa and Pasco County.

You can check to see if your nearest store is open by clicking here. A press release stated that they are doing their best to stay open and provide emergency and support personnel with access to fuel and supplies.

"To support preparation and response to Hurricane Milton, free coffee and fountain beverages will be available to all first responders, National Guard and emergency responders in Florida through the weekend at all Florida locations," the release read.
