Publix stores across Tampa Bay modify hours for Hurricane Milton

The changes apply to Publix grocery stores in the storm's anticipated path, including in the Tampa Bay area.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — More than 500 Publix stores across Florida are modifying hours ahead of Hurricane Milton.

The changes apply to grocery stores in the storm's anticipated path, including in the Tampa Bay area.

While hours vary depending on the location, several Publix stores in St. Petersburg and Tampa will be closing at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, and will close entirely on Wednesday, Oct. 9, before reopening at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10.

Several local Publix stores list the following hours:

  • Tuesday- 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday-CLOSED
  • Thursday- 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Friday- 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Other locations, like the Publix at Gateway Mall on Dr. MLK Jr. St. N in St. Petersburg, will be closed entirely on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

Shoppers should check the hours of their local Publix store to see when it will be open.
