ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg Police arrested a 14-year-old boy who allegedly fled after he shot and killed an 11-year-old.
The shooting happened just before 10 p.m. on Thursday at a home on 11th Avenue South near 43rd Street South. Detectives said the 11-year-old went to the home to visit a friend when the 14-year-old arrived later. The two got into an argument and the 11-year-old was later found dead inside the home from a single gunshot wound, police said.
The 14-year-old turned himself in and was charged with manslaughter.
The investigation is ongoing.
