TAMPA, Fla. — Another person was arrested in connection to an incident that left a Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputy hospitalized.

Deputy Kalin Hall was run over by a driver he tried to pull over on July 5. The man who rammed into him, named William Lewis Jr., was arrested a few days later along with his girlfriend, Keilise Garrison, who was accused of helping him. On Tuesday, deputies said Lewis' sister, Brianna Jeffries, was also arrested for helping her brother.

The 29-year-old was charged with tampering with physical evidence and accessory after that face, which are the same charges Garrison is facing. It was not clear how exactly Jeffries helped her brother.

"I stood before our community last week confident that there would be more arrests coming as we sought justice for the heinous acts committed against Deputy Hall," Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement. "Our detectives continue to pursue every lead in this case and will not stop until all those who helped this despicable man after what he did are held accountable."

The incident happened when Hall spotted a black BMW driver who couldn't keep the car in one lane. He pulled the driver over, which was 24-year-old Lewis but as soon as Hall got out of his car, Lewis sped off. Hall later found the BMW and pulled in front of the car, which was parked in a lot, but when Hall got out of the car, Lewis ran him over.

"He put the car in gear, hits the gas and runs over the deputy," Chronister said in a news conference last week. "Leaving him on the side of the road like an injured dog."

Throughout the investigation, detectives learned Garrison was on the phone with him during the crimes and called Lewis' mom to help him leave the area after he hit the deputy. Garrison also deleted all of her text messages that night to hide her participation, deputies said.

Zachoriy Carnegie, 24, was also arrested on drug charges by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office. Carnegie was driving with Lewis when he was arrested and Chronister said he was planning to help Lewis skip town and elude arrest.

Lewis Jr. is facing multiple charges including aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, reckless driving with serious bodily injury and the latest charge of possession of marijuana with the intent to sell.

Hall was released from Tampa General Hospital on July 6 and is expected to make a full recovery.
