LORIDA, Fla. — Three people were hurt after a small plane crashed Friday evening in Highlands County.
It happened just after 5:30 p.m. off O’Neal Road in a remote area of Lorida, Highlands County Fire Rescue said.
All six people on board survived and were alert when medics responded. Two of them were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The pilot was airlifted to a regional trauma center for a cut on his head, a spokesperson for the county said.
The spokesperson added that the group was traveling to their private airstrip in the area.
The investigation has been turned over to the Federal Aviation Administration.
