ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. — Two people were seriously hurt after the plane they were flying in crashed Thursday afternoon near Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, authorities said.
Video from the Sky 10 helicopter showed the plane somehow went down near the woods adjacent to the airport. The two people were taken to area hospitals for treatment, a county spokesperson said.
Police shut down South Avenue from Airport Road to Six Avenue to investigate, asking people to avoid the area.
Pasco County Fire Rescue and Zephyrhills Police Department have responded to the scene, while the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board have been requested to complete an investigation.
