ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A man wanted by police in a downtown St. Petersburg shooting earlier this month has turned himself in.
Police said 20-year-old Deronke Barron turned himself into the Pinellas County Jail on Tuesday afternoon — a day after the police department publicly identified him as the suspect.
The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. on Oct. 7 as a group of men got into a fight on the sidewalk on 3rd Street North near Central Avenue.
Three men were shot and four others — two men and two women — suffered minor injuries.
Barron is now facing multiple charges including carrying a concealed weapon, discharging a firearm in public and improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon. According to police, additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
According to jail records, Barron posted an $11,000 bond on Tuesday afternoon and is set to be released.
