Tampa Bay area sandbag sites begin to close ahead of Hurricane Milton

Pinellas and Hillsborough counties have officially ended sandbag operations ahead of the storm, which is set to make landfall sometime midweek.

TAMPA, Fla. — As Hurricane Milton continues its track towards the west coast of Florida, sandbag sites across the Tampa Bay area are beginning to close.

The storm, which is expected to weaken before reaching landfall sometime this week, is forecast to bring dangerous conditions to Florida and the Tampa Bay area.

The following counties and cities in the Tampa Bay area have officially concluded all sandbag operations ahead of Hurricane Milton:

  • Pasco County
  • Pinellas County
  • Hernando County
  • Hillsborough County
  • Sarasota County
    • The Ed Smith Stadium at 2700 12th St.
