ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Atlantic hurricane season just keeps coming as Tropical Depression 12 has formed in the far eastern Atlantic Ocean.
According to the National Hurricane Center, the system has maximum sustained winds of 35 mph and is moving west-northwest at 16 mph. The storm is currently 335 miles southeast of the Cabo Verde Islands.
The depression is forecast to strengthen into a tropical storm over the next couple of days before eventually becoming a hurricane by the weekend.
As of now, it poses no threat to the U.S.
