POWER OUTAGES: More than 133K customers without power across Florida

Hurricane Debby brought heavy rainfall, storm surge and strong winds to the Tampa Bay region.

TAMPA, Fla. — Duke Energy and many of Florida's other utility companies report numerous power outages in the wake of Hurricane Debby.

Heavy rainfall, flash flooding, storm surge and isolated tornado risks are anticipated as the storm continues its trek. The impacts of Debby also include power outages. Currently, tens of thousands of Floridians are without power across the state. 

As of this writing, more than 136,000 customers serviced by Duke Energy, TECO and Florida Power and Light are sitting in the dark. 

Earlier Sunday, Gov. Ron DeSantis said there are thousands of linemen ready to quickly restore power throughout the state once it's safe. 

Here's a list of power outages affecting the Tampa Bay area and Florida.:

Duke Energy power outages

  • 71,822 customers without power across Florida as of 3:30 p.m. Monday.
  • Duke Energy said it anticipates restoring 95 percent of Pasco and Pinellas counties by 11:59 a.m. Monday if the weather cooperates. 

TECO power outages

  • 2,986 customers without power across the Tampa Bay area as of 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Florida Power and Light (FPL) power outages

  • 32,060 customers without power across Florida as of 3:30 p.m. Monday.
