ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — From hurricanes and tropical storms to tornadoes and heavy rain, Floridians know what it's like to be impacted by severe weather.
That's why Duke Energy Florida is sending crews to South Carolina to help restore power following the impact of Tropical Storm Zeta. Duke Energy Florida says it sent about 400 crews and contract partners, which include linemen, to assist.
Some of the crews left Thursday morning and are heading to Greenville as they anticipate outages from the storm. The second wave of crews is set to leave Friday morning.
Already in Georgia, the storm knocked out power to millions, according to WXIA.
Zeta made landfall Wednesday evening south of New Orleans as a Category 2 hurricane.
