Tornado warning allowed to expire in Sarasota, Manatee counties

The warning was issued through noon.

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — A tornado warning has been allowed to expire Monday for parts of Sarasota and Manatee counties, the National Weather Service said.

The tornado warning was first issued around 11:15 a.m. in northwestern Sarasota County. Then, just before 11:30 a.m., parts of southern Manatee County were included in the warning. 

The warning was allowed to expire at noon. 

Around 11:14 a.m., radar indicated a waterspout was located just offshore over south Sarasota. At 11:29 a.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Lake Sarasota, or near Sarasota, moving east at 25 mph.

There have not been any reports of damage at this time.
