TAMPA, Fla. — There is nothing like an April cold front to shake up the weather for the better.
Following an unseasonably warm and muggy week, a much-desired wind shift is bringing in a refreshingly drier and cooler air just in time for the weekend!
Now cold weather haters — do not fret. We're not expecting a big chill this weekend. In fact, temperatures will be just a few degrees below the normal high for early April.
As you open those windows to let in that fresh spring air, we'll help you get those plans in place to enjoy this brief change in our weather!
The Forecast
We'll kick each day off this weekend with a gorgeous, comfortable morning before temperatures climb into the mid to upper 70s. There will barely be a cloud in sight this weekend, so don't forget those sunglasses before heading out of the door.
A wind out of the north-northwest is responsible for bringing us this refreshing air and dip and temperatures, but it will remain breezy Saturday with sustained winds between 10-15 mph.
The dew points also have a supporting role in the weather story. Surface moisture has dropped significantly in the wake of the powerful cold front. Dew points in the 40s and 50s is incredibly comfortable air when compared to muggy upper 60s and 70s.

Did you know that Keel Farms is also a winery? Sounds like a win-win.
The Caveat
There's only one weather-related issue this weekend. Marine conditions are a little bumpier than normal in wake of the cold front.
A rip current risk and small craft advisory are in effect until Friday evening and may extend into Saturday. Keep that in mind if you have any boating or beach plans this weekend. Make sure to check the flags at the lifeguard stands before going in for a dip.
Otherwise, lather up that sunscreen and enjoy a treat of a weekend!
