TAMPA, Fla. — No, you're not upstate – nor are you dreaming.
It's actually cold in parts of Florida, including the Tampa Bay region.
And it's going to stay that way over the next few days, so be sure to keep those jackets handy as the next three mornings will be some of the coldest so far this season, according to the National Weather Service.
Temperatures began to drop in the high 50s on Monday evening. But now, areas north of the Tampa Bay area will be dropping into the 40s while mostly cloudy skies remain in the forecast for Tuesday, keeping high temperatures in the upper 50s to the mid 60s, depending on where people live in the area.
Tuesday morning will be the coldest since March, and Wednesday morning will be the coldest since January.
"The coldest temperatures of the season so far are expected Wednesday and Thursday, with freezing temperatures possible over the Nature Coast counties both mornings," NWS Tampa Bay said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
It's certainly a time to take advantage of the cold weather over the next few days because temperatures will begin to get warm again. Starting Thursday afternoon, temps will return to the 70s.
