WATCH: Waterspout spotted off Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel

There's no indication if the waterspout moved onshore.

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. — Videos from multiple vantage points show a waterspout swirling off the coast of Southwest Florida during Wednesday's storms.

As severe weather moved through Southwest Florida on Wednesday morning, bringing threats of strong wind, people captured photos and videos of a waterspout from both Fort Myers Beach and neighboring Sanibel.

Elyse Chengery, an anchor from WFTX, captured video from Fort Myers Beach just before 11:30 a.m.

WINK meteorologist Matt Devitt shared viewer photos of a waterspout off the coast of Sanibel taken around the same time.

There's no indication if the waterspout moved onshore.

Last week, a small waterspout moved onshore at Clearwater Beach, sending two people to the hospital with minor injuries.

Video shared by the Clearwater Fire & Rescue Department shows beachgoers running out of the way as umbrellas and debris were thrown into the air.
