TAMPA, Fla. — As a line of strong thunderstorms moved through the area Thursday, numerous flights were canceled or delayed at Tampa International Airport.
As of 11 p.m., there were 42 cancellations and 357 delays at TPA, according to data from the airport. To check the flight status of arrivals and departures at TPA, click or tap here.
At Sarasota Bradenton International Airport, 12 departing flights out of 16 total experienced delays and three were canceled. Five arrivals are also delayed and two were canceled.
Eleven of the departures from the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport were delayed and two were canceled. Twenty arriving flights were delayed and two were canceled as of 1:05 p.m.
A tornado watch was issued for six Tampa Bay-area counties through 3 p.m. Tornado warnings were also issued for parts of Hillsborough, Pinellas and Pasco counties but have all been allowed to expire.
The Storm Prediction Center highlighted much of the Tampa Bay area under a slight risk for severe weather, including the threats of isolated tornadoes and scattered damaging wind gusts up to 70 mph.
