NWS confirms second tornado touched down Sunday in Tampa Bay

The tornado in Wimauma caused tree and minor structural damage.

WIMAUMA, Fla. – The National Weather Service confirmed a second tornado touched down over the weekend in the Tampa Bay area.

An EF-1 tornado around 11:21 a.m. ET Sunday caused tree and minor structural damage near Carlton Lake Road and State Road 674 Northeast, according to the NWS. The Wimauma tornado is in addition to the tornado that touched down in New Port Richey.
