10News meteorologists are monitoring a tropical storm in the eastern Atlantic Ocean.
Satellite imagery indicates a tropical depression has strengthened to become Tropical Storm Beryl.
According to Meteorologist Grant Gilmore, intensity forecast models show a large range of possibilities -- from Beryl remaining a tropical storm to it potentially becoming a hurricane.

The National Hurricane Center initiated an advisory Thursday.
Both the National Weather Service and our 10News Weather Team believe, although Beryl is expected to develop further, it probably won't threaten Florida because of the less favorable conditions it will encounter in the next few days. Those conditions will likely cause it to weaken.
Currently, the tropical storm is expected to dissipate over the weekend east of the Lesser Antilles islands.
While this storm may not be anything to worry about for now, it is a reminder to be prepared. Here are the items you want to have on hand during the entire hurricane season.
