SARASOTA, Fla. — The Baltimore Orioles are donating $250,000 and matching every donated dollar up to another $250,000 toward recovery efforts at their spring training home of Sarasota, the team announced Wednesday.

The team said if the $500,000 target is reached, the Patterson Family Foundation will provide another $100,000. The donations will reportedly go directly to covering the urgent needs of residents including rent, utilities, transportation and childcare. Click here to donate.

"In times of crisis, it's essential for us to stand together as a community," said Orioles Owner and Control Person David Rubenstein. “We hope that this match challenge inspires our fans and community members to give generously and help provide immediate relief for those affected by Hurricane Milton."

The Orioles are expected to kick off the 2025 spring training season in a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates in Sarasota on Feb. 22. All net proceeds from the team's Spring Training 50/50 raffle will be donated to All Faiths Food Bank, which the team will also partner with to host neighborhood food distributions.

"By supporting both Season of Sharing and All Faiths Food Bank, we hope to alleviate some of the financial and food insecurity burdens faced by families affected by the hurricane," said Orioles Owner and Joint Owner of Charm City Sports Partners Mike Arougheti. "Our hope is that these efforts will provide a pathway for families to regain stability and peace of mind as they recover."
