TREASURE ISLAND, Fla. — Miami-Dade Fire Rescue crews were deployed to Pinellas County to help residents and support other agencies in recovery efforts from Hurricane Milton.

Crews are currently assessing damages and clearing debris in Treasure Island.

Pinellas County officials were the first to lift mandatory evacuation orders after Hurricane Milton moved off the east coast of Florida.

Residents of zones A, B, C and mobile homes were urged to evacuate ahead of the Category 3 storm that made landfall in Siesta Key. Now, they are being allowed to return home.

Although the order was lifted, residents are asked to avoid unnecessary travel as many roads are not yet clear of debris or other hazards.
