ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Pinellas County homeowners and renters who have suffered storm damage from Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene can now apply for aid from FEMA.

FEMA can help with immediate serious needs.

Assistance is provided for emergency supplies like water, food, immediate shelter, first aid, breast-feeding supplies, infant formula, diapers, personal hygiene items, or fuel for transportation.

Those displaced from their homes can apply for FEMA Displacement Assistance. It allows for upfront money to book a hotel for 14 days for people displaced from their homes.

FEMA also had aid available to renters who have been displaced by the storms.

You will need the following information to apply:

  • Contact phone number
  • Address at the time of the disaster and the address you are staying now
  • Social Security numbers
  • General list of damages and losses
  • Banking information for a direct deposit
  • If insured, the policy number or the agent and/or the company name

If you have already applied for aid after Hurricane Helene and sustained damage during Hurricane Milton, you will need to apply separately for Hurricane Milton. You will also need the dates the damage occurred.

You can apply by going to DisasterAssistance.gov, using the FEMA app or calling 1-800-621-3362.
