LAKELAND, Fla. — In the wake of Hurricane Helene, Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) is donating $1 million to hurricane disaster relief efforts in impacted areas.

“We’re grateful to Publix Super Markets Charities for its donation to help the people and communities affected by Hurricane Helene,” Publix CEO Kevin Murphy said. “I’m proud of our over 255,000 associates who continue to take care of our customers and communities in times of need.”

Hurricane Helene claimed at least 149 lives across several states. The Biden Administration says at least 600 people remain unaccounted for following the hurricane.

The supermarket chain is also launching a companywide donation campaign, allowing customers and associates to help residents affected by the hurricane. Donations can be made in any amount while at checkout.

Publix’s contributions and register donations will support nonprofit organizations, including the American Red Cross, United Way and the Florida Fund.
