TAMPA, Fla. — As Tampa Bay continues to recover from the impacts of Hurricane Helene, the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections is introducing the vote-by-mail option for residents displaced by the storm.

The agency told 10 Tampa Bay that displaced locals have several options available to them to cast their votes this election season. Firstly, those voters can go to any of the agency's five offices to pick up their vote-by-mail ballot in person, or a designee can pick it up for them.

Those locations are:

  • Fred. B Karl County Center - 601 E. Kennedy Boulevard, 16th Floor, Tampa, Florida 33602
  • Robert L. Gilder Elections Service Center - 2514 N. Falkenburg Road, Tampa, FL 33619
  • Southeast Regional Office - 10020 South U.S. Hwy. 301, Riverview, FL 33578
  • Northwest Regional Office - 4575 Gunn Hwy., Tampa, FL 33624
  • SouthShore Regional Service Center - 410 30th St. SE, Ruskin, FL 33570

Officials added that if a voter made a request and the post office can't deliver their mail to their home, they should be able to pick up their mail at their local post office.

The Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections is also encouraging voters to call their office and talk through their options to have a vote-by-mail ballot sent to their address.

"Voters in Hillsborough County can plan to vote during Early Voting at any of 27 locations, Oct. 21 – Nov. 3, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. We’ve confirmed that all will be available," officials told 10 Tampa Bay in an email.

Officials said they will also notify voters of any changes to Election Day polling places and post those changes on their website.
