County-by-county: Where Tampa Bay residents can apply for FEMA after Helene and Milton

Across the Bay area, residents across several counties may still be wondering where they can apply for aid.
Updates on Hurricane Milton's ongoing impacts in Tampa Bay

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Weeks after both Hurricane Helene and Milton left widespread impacts across Tampa Bay, some affected residents may still be wondering where within their county they can go apply for FEMA assistance.

In the following guide, 10 Tampa Bay breaks down county-by-county where residents impacted by the back-to-back storms can go to apply for aid.

Hillsborough County

FEMA is opening new assistance centers starting Wednesday, Oct. 23 in Tampa.

The locations include:

  • Copeland Park Center, 11001 N. 15th Street, Tampa, FL 33614
  • Port Tampa Center, 4702 W McCoy St, Tampa, FL 33616
  • Cyrus Greene Center, 2101 E. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd, Tampa, FL 33610
  • Cordelia B. Hunt Center, 4810 N. Himes Avenue, Tampa, FL 33614

While no FEMA representatives will be onsite, Tampa officials will be available to answer general questions and provide access to computers only.

The centers are open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to noon.

Residents will need to bring the following information to complete their applications:

  • Address of your damaged home or apartment
  • Names of people living in your household
  • A description of your disaster damages
  • Insurance information
  • Social Security Number
  • A telephone number where you can be reached or a message can be left
  • Bank account information
  • Email address

Pinellas County 

Pinellas County residents can access FEMA at the Disaster Recovery Center located at Botanical Gardens on 12520 Ulmerton Road in Largo. That center is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

At the center, residents will get information and guidance on disaster assistance programs, help applying for federal aid, translation and accessibility services, status updates and more.

Officials say it's a good idea to bring ID, proof of residence, insurance and any documentation of disaster-related losses.

Citrus County

A FEMA Disaster Recovery Center is open at West Citrus Community Center on 8940 W Veterans Drive, Homosassa, FL 34448. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Hernando County

A Disaster Recovery Center is open at the West Hernando Branch Library at 6335 Blackbird Ave in Brooksville. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Pasco County

Pasco County residents can seek FEMA assistance at the Fasano Regional Hurricane Shelter on 11611 Denton Ave in Hudson. 

Polk County

The county has not opened an official Disaster Recovery Center.

Residents can apply for FEMA assistance online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, via the FEMA app or by calling 1-800-621-3362.

Manatee County

Manatee County residents can head to Lakewood Ranch Library to seek FEMA assistance. That library is located at 16410 Rangeland Parkway in Bradenton.

Sarasota County

Sarasota County residents can head to the Sarasota Christian Church on 2923 Asgton Road for FEMA assistance.
