ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A bright and very warm start to our work week can be expected. Rain chances remain on the low side for the next couple of days. All eyes are on the tropics with Tropical Storm Rafael possibly forming by later today. Rafael may become a hurricane by Wednesday but once it emerges in the Gulf of Mexico it's still expected to head away from Florida and weaken. Keep checking back for updates.

Wednesday & Thursday (Weather Impact Alert): Tropical moisture increases with what is expected to be Tropical Cyclone Rafael. This will increase our scattered showers and storms. There is a low severe weather risk and flooding is not expected. Rain amounts up to one inch possible.
