ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Whether you're traveling by plane, train or automobile, there's much to be thankful for in Florida's weather forecast.

Here's what to expect each day as you keep your Thanksgiving travel plans in mind:

Wednesday:

A cold front is sweeping across the state Wednesday. That will bring breezy winds and scattered rain showers for those hitting the roads. This is also part of a system that is bringing lots of rain to the Northeast, producing travel issues there.

Temperatures across the state will be 50/50. From central Florida north, highs will only be in the 60s and 70s behind the front. Areas south of Interstate 4 will likely get another day in the 80s with the cold front arriving later in the day.

Overall, no major issues for those hitting the roads or the skies in Florida.

Thanksgiving Day (Thursday):

A much cooler day with very low rain chances statewide. By Thanksgiving Day, the cold front will be south of Florida toward the Florida straights, keeping any rain chances confined to extreme southern Florida.

You will notice a chilly start to the day as you head north across the state. Lows toward north Florida and the Panhandle will be in the 40s! 50s for morning temperatures are likely for central Florida.

That means afternoon high temperatures will also be cooler than normal across the state.

Friday:

Another wave of energy in the atmosphere will be heading our way. That means more clouds and rain chances across Florida. Some rain chances will be possible Friday morning toward the Panhandle.

Most of the state will stay dry through the morning with better rain chances moving into the Florida peninsula in the afternoon and evening. Keep this in mind for post-Thanksgiving travel.

It might be better to hit the roads earlier on Friday before rain moves in. Temperatures will remain cool, with more clouds and rain chances keeping highs in the 60s and 70s expected for South Florida.

Saturday:

The aforementioned system will continue to track across the state Saturday morning keeping rain chances around. The greatest rain chances throughout the day on Saturday will likely be I-4 and south.

Temperatures will range from the upper 60s across northern Florida, 70s across central Florida and 80s across south Florida.

Sunday:

Most of the state will be dry for Sunday, which is great news for the busy return home from Thanksgiving. A few lingering rain showers will be possible toward South Florida.

Otherwise, across the state expect a mix of sun and clouds along with warmer temperatures. Central and South Florida will see highs pushing near the lower 80s. It still remains a bit cooler towards the Panhandle in the upper 60s and low 70s.

It should be a great day to travel across the state!
