TAMPA, Fla — When it comes to severe weather, Florida can see it all.
That's why Feb. 1-5 is the state's Severe Weather Awareness Week: a time for Floridians to make plans for the possible impacts of powerful storms and other dangers found in nature.
From learning about lightning safety to hurricanes and flooding, the Florida Division of Emergency Management lays everything out this week on what to expect and how to prepare.
To help people think about what to do in the event of a tornado, a drill will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
You can read more on the Florida Division of Emergency Management's website.
