Full list of Tampa Bay events canceled, delayed for weather

The threat of severe weather across the Tampa Bay area could have an impact on your night.

TAMPA, Fla. — If you had plans to head out Thursday night, you will want to check this list of canceled events first.

A threat of severe weather across the Tampa Bay area could have an impact on your night.

Florida State Fair:

Due to the inclement weather and high winds predicted, the Florida State Fair will close at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020. The fair is expected to reopen as scheduled at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 7.

Sarasota County Schools:
The district girls soccer championship between North Port High and Venice High has been moved from tonight to tomorrow night.

Hillsborough County Schools:
Hillsborough County Schools said it is keeping its eyes on the weather. As of now, all the district's after-school sports and activities are expected to go on as scheduled.

If an individual school decides to make any changes, parents will be contacted by a coach or the school's staff.

Pinellas County Schools:

The Countryside High at Clearwater High boys district finals has been moved to 6 p.m. from 7 p.m. All athletics events are still on for tonight.

Citrus County Schools:

All Thursday after school and extracurricular activities are canceled. The YMCA after school daycare and tutoring program will continue as planned and are not impacted by this decision.

The Science Fair Awards Ceremony that was scheduled for Thursday night is rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 10, at 6 p.m.

Hernando County Schools:

All outdoor activities that require travel are canceled because of Thursday’s weather conditions.

Manatee County Schools:

The Manatee County School District said it would not be running any buses Thursday evening for extra-curricular activities. Fortunately, there is a pretty light schedule athletics wise, and the weather will not lead to a lot of cancellations.

Pasco County Schools:

The district is not canceling evening events at schools, but school leaders may make individual decisions based on their best judgment. Buses will operate on their normal schedules.

There are no early dismissals or schedule changes. The school has let parents know that if they want to take students out of class for weather concerns, they can.

If anything changes, parents will get a message from their children’s school.

City of Tarpon Springs:

The concert set for Thursday evening at Sunset beach is postponed until next Thursday, Feb. 13.
