HUDSON, Fla. — In Pasco County, people living along the coast saw strong winds and a rising tide all through Tuesday evening.
Kirk Campbell, owner of Hudson Dockside Inn, said water was pushed over the sea wall and up onto his property twice.
"It came up over the sea wall and I had to raise the boat on the lift," said Campbell.
It was a sight all too familiar. Another 'déjà vu moment' for him.
Hudson Dockside Inn was hit hard by Hurricane Idalia in August. Each of his dozen units were destroyed by two feet of floodwater.
"I had to take one unit at a time and go through it and completely renovate it. Everything in all of our units from September to October is brand new," said Campbell.
Now, each new storm threat renews fears of what it could mean for his business.
"It’s scary. I don’t know physically if we could go through that kind of renovation again," said Campbell.
For him, doing business in paradise takes a physical, financial, and emotional toll.
"I have a good attitude. I always think glass half full, but after today, I’m not sure how much I love this paradise," said Campbell.
