TAMPA, Fla. — Looking for a West Coat getaway? Tampa International Airport has a new direct flight to California that could even save you some money.
On Tuesday, TPA announced a new nonstop flight on Breeze Airways to Santa Ana’s John Wayne Airport. The seasonal route will run on Mondays and Fridays beginning Friday, May 31.
About 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles, John Wayne Airport is located in Orange County, a destination for surfing, Disneyland and other major attractions.
“We are thrilled to add a sought-after West Coast destination with this Breeze service to Orange County’s John Wayne Airport, giving TPA travelers a nonstop option to a California region well-known as both a business nexus and tourist playground,” TPA CEO Joe Lopano said.
Fares start at $139 one-way if purchased by Jan. 29, for travel by Sept. 3, 2024.
“Since we started flying from Tampa in May 2021, Breeze has continued to add desirable destinations to our rapidly growing footprint,” Breeze CEO and Founder David Neeleman said.
Breeze doesn’t charge change or cancellation fees up to 15 minutes before departure. The discount airline also offers up to 24 months of reusable flight credit along with free family seating and a la carte pricing.
