"We’ve NEVER had this route before and it is one of our largest unserved markets," the airport wrote on X.

TAMPA, Fla. — Looking for a West Coat getaway? Tampa International Airport has a new direct flight to California that could even save you some money.

On Tuesday, TPA announced a new nonstop flight on Breeze Airways to Santa Ana’s John Wayne Airport. The seasonal route will run on Mondays and Fridays beginning Friday, May 31.

About 40 miles southeast of Los Angeles, John Wayne Airport is located in Orange County, a destination for surfing, Disneyland and other major attractions.

“We are thrilled to add a sought-after West Coast destination with this Breeze service to Orange County’s John Wayne Airport, giving TPA travelers a nonstop option to a California region well-known as both a business nexus and tourist playground,” TPA CEO Joe Lopano said.

Fares start at $139 one-way if purchased by Jan. 29, for travel by Sept. 3, 2024.
