TAMPA, Fla. — A water main break in Tampa is expected to impact traffic for at least a week for a portion of North Howard Avenue.

The outside, northbound lane on North Howard Avenue will be closed between West Spruce Street and West Walnut Street effective immediately as county crews work on a repair.

The city says it anticipates that repairs will be done by 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22.

"The Work (sic) schedules are contingent upon weather conditions," the Tampa Water Department said in a statement. "The staff and crews of the Tampa Water Department appreciate everyone's patience during this time."

Drivers traveling through the area this week are urged to use caution. There may be modifications made to traffic as necessary during the course of the city's work.
