NOKOMIS, Fla. — A section of South Tamiami Trail has been reopened after deputies say a person was hit and killed by a car.
According to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office, the northbound lanes of U.S. 41 near Lychee Road in Nokomis were closed as law enforcement investigates the incident.
Authorities asked drivers to look for an alternate route and avoid the area until the investigation was complete.
