Traffic crash on westbound I-4 in Hillsborough County caused major delays

It's unclear what caused the crash but injuries have been reported.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers along westbound Interstate 4 in Hillsborough County experienced major delays due to a traffic crash. 

The crash was reported sometime after 6 a.m. Tuesday. At the crash's peak, two westbound lanes of I-4 just before Mango Road were shut down. Eventually, only one lane was shut down. The crash was cleared sometime before 7 a.m.; however, delays resulting from the crash remained for several hours. 

While some traffic was getting by, traffic cameras showed that traffic was backed up several miles. 

It's unclear what caused the crash but according to Florida Highway Patrol, injuries have been reported.
