Riverview, Florida -- A Tampa police cruiser was damaged in a crash on Thursday evening when another vehicle cut off the police car on Interstate 75.
Officer Jason Degarmo, 29, was driving north about 6:15 p.m. in the center lane on I-75 south of Big Bend Road when another vehicle to his left made a sudden lane change, cutting off the police car, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Degarmo turned right, lost control and struck trees on the east side of the highway. He suffered minor injuries.
The other vehicle did not stop. It is described as a gold, four-door sedan, possibly a Ford Crown Victoria or a Mercury Grand Marquis.
