TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa police have reopened the eastbound lanes of Hillsborough Avenue after a pedestrian was hit.
A driver was making an eastbound turn on West Hillsborough Avenue when a pedestrian crossed outside the designated crosswalk around 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the police department.
The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries while the driver remained at the scene.
The lanes were closed at Habana Avenue during the morning commute but have since reopened, according to police.
Video from Sky10 shows multiple police cars around a black car in the middle of the road, on a crosswalk.
