MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A 50-year-old man from Sarasota died Tuesday night in a motorcycle crash after he hit a deer on Interstate 75 in Manatee County.
The Florida Highway Patrol estimated the crash happened sometime after 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The man was heading southbound on I-75 when he hit a deer, causing him to fall off his motorcycle and land on the left shoulder of the paved road.
After that, he was hit by an FHP trooper's cruiser that was arriving at the scene of the crash. The man's motorcycle stopped on the road where a second car crashed into it.
Authorities pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The crash remains under investigation.
