TAMPA, Fla. — Hurricane Helene caused widespread damage across the Tampa Bay area, leaving several roads impassable.
So far, more than 12,000 miles of roads have been cleared by more than 800 Florida Department of Transportation crews, according to Gov. Ron DeSantis's office. Crews are still working to clear several smaller roads.
State officials said the best way to check on road closures is by downloading the FL511 app or visiting FL511.com for road or bridge closures and potential detours that may be activated.
"Remember to never drive through flooded areas. The area of the roadway beneath the water may be washed out or may conceal debris or even power lines. Turn Around; Don’t Drown," a statement from DeSantis's office said.
Below is a list of road closures as of Saturday evening, according to state officials.

Residents are still encouraged to stay off of the roads if possible.
