ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Police in St. Pete are investigating a deadly pedestrian crash Thursday morning near 4th Street North.
Officers responded to a crash on 112th Avenue Northeast at 6:52 a.m. that involved a car and a woman who was walking, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department. The area is near several apartment complexes and condominiums.
The woman had been hit by the car and was transported to Bayfront Hospital where she later died from her injuries, officials said.
As of Thursday morning, 112th Avenue Northeast was closed in both directions and drivers would have to find an alternate route.
The driver involved in the crash stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
No other information was immediately available.
