PASCO COUNTY, Fla — A deadly crash shut down part of a busy road Monday morning in Pasco County, causing delays for commuters.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the crash happened around 7:20 a.m. on State Road 54 just before Gunn Highway. It appeared all eastbound lanes were closed at the crash site when Sky 10 flew over the area.
The lanes have since reopened to traffic.
Drivers were being detoured via a U-turn onto westbound SR-54. As a result of the crash, eastbound SR-54 was backed up for several miles.
Authorities have said the crash killed at least one person; however, it is unclear how many cars were involved and if there were additional injuries.
