RIVERVIEW, Fla. — Drivers saw major delays Thursday morning on Interstate 75 after a tractor-trailer carrying produce overturned in a crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened just after 12:30 a.m. on I-75 near Gibsonton Drive in Riverview.
Troopers say the tractor-trailer was driving behind a sedan in the outside lane when the truck hit the back of the car. The crash caused the tractor-trailer to overturn on the outside shoulder of the road while the sedan spun out into the median, FHP says.
The driver of the sedan and a passenger in the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries.
At least one northbound lane of I-75 was closed until 6 a.m. while crews worked to clear produce and debris left by the truck.
