POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A multi-vehicle crash caused major delays on Thursday along a portion of Interstate 4 in Polk County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash was first reported around 3:30 a.m. Thursday near Polk Parkway East and SR-559. Few details about the crash are available, including what caused it.
It took crews several hours to clean up diesel fuel that spilled throughout the area as a result of the crash.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office confirmed two people were sent to the hospital. And, one person is listed in serious condition, deputies said.
Traffic cameras showed multiple emergency vehicles were at the crash site for several hours. What appears to be a semi-truck overturned on the median.
