DUNEDIN, Fla. — Crews temporarily closed a stretch of U.S. Highway 19 Monday afternoon in Pinellas County because of a gas leak.
In a statement, the Dunedin Fire Department said it's responding to U.S. 19 and the southwest corner of Curlew Road. A contractor struck a line in the area, Clearwater officials said in a post on X.
Several hours after reports of the closure, several lanes of U.S. 19 south of Curlew Road reopened, while one outside southbound lane stayed closed. As of Tuesday morning, all lanes have reopened to traffic.
Drivers had been asked to use caution as construction units were set to remain in the area.
