TAMPA, Fla. — If you're driving from St. Pete to Tampa, expect delays.
While the eastbound lanes of the Gandy Bridge have reopened, there are still major back-ups on Gandy Boulevard in St. Pete.
The eastbound lanes were temporarily closed due to a major crash that happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the west end of the bridge. They reopened a little more than an hour later.
Florida Highway Patrol says a Polaris Slingshot, or three-wheeled motorcycle, lost control and crashed into a barrier wall. From there, FHP says it hit a passing car, causing the motorcycle rider to be ejected.
Video from an overhead camera showed the rider being loaded into an ambulance. But, there was no immediate word on the individual's condition.
Troopers say the crash is under investigation.
