HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is searching for a driver who reportedly left their unregistered car rolled over in a creek off U.S. Highway 41 early Monday morning in Hillsborough County, authorities said.

The driver was speeding in the southbound lanes of Old US-41A before they lost control of their Kia Sedona near the intersection of US-41, FHP said. The car reportedly went off the road and hit a guardrail, causing serious damage.
FHP said the car rolled into an adjacent creek before coming to a stop. The driver left their car in the waterway, which was revealed to be unregistered with an unassigned license plate, according to the release.
Divers with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reportedly searched the waterway, but couldn't find the driver or any other evidence.
