TAMPA, Fla. — A portion of East Hillsborough Avenue is closed after a serious crash that left one person seriously injured.
Tampa police say this happened just around 10 p.m. Tuesday when a woman was hit by a vehicle. She was taken to Tampa General Hospital with "significant injuries."
Police say the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and the vehicle and driver remained on scene.
TPD says westbound on East Hillsborough Avenue at North 17th Street is closed, and is expected to be for several hours.
Drivers are asked to use alternate routes while authorities investigate.
