TAMPA, Fla. — A diesel fuel spill caused by a box truck crash caused delays for commuters Monday morning in Tampa.
The crash happened at 3:48 a.m. on East Hillsborough Avenue, west of Interstate 275.
Police said the crash involving a box truck and one other vehicle caused a "substantial amount" of diesel fuel to leak onto the two outside eastbound lanes of East Hillsborough Avenue. The lanes were closed for several hours but have since reopened.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
